What a whirlwind affair these last few years have been…

What a whirlwind affair these last few years have been…

Despite this long and winding road I’ve travelled, from:

  • 2021 – brain bleed (surgery #6),
  • 2022 – shunt placement (surgery #7) less than a year later,
  • 2023 – I had to stop working to focus on my brain injury rehab,
  • 2024 – I was dismissed after more than 10 years…

🎯My rehab goal: To get back to employment in 2025🤔

TO ANYONE ELSE IN THIS SITUATION :

While others may give up on you, you owe it to yourself to keep going❣️
You are NOT “unemployable”. You are NOT “useless”. You have SKILLS. You CAN do this❣️

  • 26 June 2025 – received a job offer today, which I’ve accepted! A career change with purpose.💫
What more could I ask for?
    Happy birthday to me 🥳🥳🥳

‼️It was starting to feel like I should just give up. And, while I came close quite a few times, I picked myself up (repeatedly), and put one foot in front of the other.

🌿🌱DETERMINED to dig deep and find my inner RESILIENT self, I immersed myself into any and all available help accessible to me. It has not been easy, but with God’s help, I have found the best way through, for me! It’s a process…

So, despite the difficulties I’ve had to overcome, and still face, grateful is exactly what I feel.

I blog about Hydrocephalus to give a voice to the millions (if not billions) of people around the world with this condition NOT disease.  As much as these experiences are unique to me and my family, I’m sure others have experienced it too.  My aim…to shine a light on it and raise awareness – simple and challenging at the same time but worth it!
